Director of St. Petersburg School of Conference Interpreting and Translation (SCIT) – a project of the Linguistic Service of the Russian MFA, the Commission of European Communities and the United Nations. Since 1980 has been teaching practice and theory of translation and interpretation. Irina is an associate professor, PhD in Bilingualism. Since the end of the 90ies has published a number of books on the theory of translation and interpretation and methods of translators and interpreters training.
Since 2000 has been conducting workshops on organisation of education in the field of interpretation/translation and the methods of interpreters/translators training in Russia and other countries. In 2004 awarded an Honorary Diploma of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.
Co-owner and CEO at Translatel Ltd, PhD in Contrastive Linguistics, associate professor at Kirovohrad Volodymyr Vynnychenko State Pedagogical University, author of more than 30 articles and books in contrastive studies and translation. Being a part of two different worlds – university, which coaches future translators and translation industry, that deals with the graduates, Oleksandr does not only observe the roots of methodological problems but also suggests effective solutions that are reflected in his professional and social activity. For his educational activity Oleksandr was announced Russian Translation Industry Professional 2013 Award Winner.
